So true.

The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle. -Unknown

Can't wait to return for some more hot yoga in the AM.

Haven't been in a few days. April was not a good month for me yoga-wise. I only made it to 10 classes with the holiday weekend and my parents visiting for a week in the beginning of the month.

I hope to change that number though come May.

This is such a great hot yoga quote that can be applied to so many situations in life.

Social workers are like "clients" too

I have a wild-child 2-year-old who will randomly hit others in public and embarrass the shit out of me. At times I feel I cannot handle him.

I have drama in my family at times. And a lot of us probably do have "issues".

My husband can really annoy the crap out of me, and yes, we do fight. Sometimes a lot. We'd probably give a good therapist a run for their money.

Speaking of money, I worry about it. And many times, I haven't had it for things I needed or wanted.

I avoid doing things I need to do, and don't always follow the advice I would give to some of my own clients.

I curse and say things that are not appropriate. Often daily.

I have and will continue to do dumb things.

I can be stubborn, challenging and just really aggravating at times.

On many occasions, I think I'd be some social worker's worst client.

Made it through

another week!

Lots of challenges have happened in Socialworkland, but with most, they ended up working out.

I also have to say I really enjoy my new position and I especially love my new office environment.

Right now I am watching the royal wedding festivities and loving the fact that I don't have to be in the office or with clients today :).

What do you all have planned for this weekend?

This weekend I'm relaxing

because this week is going to be wild and crazy in Social Worker land!

Right now I am in Upstate, NY at my parent's house with DS. DH had to work most of this weekend, but will be joining us at my Aunt's tomorrow for Easter dinner.

So far this weekend I've enjoyed:

Not having to drive the almost 3 hour drive North myself with DS (parents picked us up).
Eating yummy food (homemade burgers, baked sweet potato fries and salad for dinner last night).
Hot coffee.
Breakfast out this morning (I had hash. I never eat hash but it was crispy and delicious).
Sitting in on a rainy, quiet day relaxing while DS hunts for Easter eggs inside.
Walking around the Super Wal-mart to people watch. (There are definitely some interesting characters to see at the Wal-mart in this neck of the woods).
Later tonight I am going to watch my sister sing and play her guitar at a local coffee house.
Tomorrow I am looking forward to making fresh guacamole to bring to my Aunt's house. (This is one of my favorite appetizers ever).

What are you all doing this weekend? Hope you are getting at least some rest and relaxation in.

When it comes to certain clients

do you feel as a social worker you have a crystal ball and can totally predict some of the things that they are going to do next?

And can't you ALWAYS see that whatever is going to go wrong, always happens on a Friday, and usually right before a holiday weekend like today ;).

1. Fridays are my work from home and rest and relaxation day .

2. Positive people, sunshine, good deals, and stable clients make me terribly happy.

3. Something that inspires me is when people jump in and drop everything to help someone in need.

4. If I had the day off today I would.....well, technically I am working from home today, and I will be heading Upstate later to spend the weekend with family.

5. If I had to put a label on my home decor style, I would say very simple and a huge work in progress. We haven't done much outside of our bedroom and DS room at this point. One day though, one day! (Money fall from the sky down on me LOL).

6. Concerning politics I would say I'm pretty liberal, but some days certain people I work with make me feel totally republican LOL .

7. I'd like to go to a nice, warm beach somewhere even if only for a day.

Just paid off some debt!

And now, we really don't have a heck of a lot left in our joint savings.........it's STILL one of the best feelings in the world knowing a debt is no more!

Now time to focus on building our savings back up!!!!!!

Please share your tips on saving!!!! Especially if you are on a modest social work salary like mine.

I hope you are having a nice relaxing weekend so far.
