If you've ever watched Supernanny (not where I would usually go for parenting advice, but you know...) we followed her bedtime advice which ended up working well.

She says that the first time your child gets out of bed, you take them back to bed, tell them "It's bedtime now, good night."
The second time, you take them back to bed and say "good night".
Any times after that, you take them back to bed without saying a word. No other disturbances EVER like turing on the light, getting water, talking or consoling. And no staying in their room.

The first few nights we would be walking back and forth to her room 20 or 30 times, but eventually it did work and was ultimately pretty painless.

Sorry, I realize you didn't actually ask for advice, but this worked so I figured I'd share!Nectarinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16957078633582883380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7114051345745830132.post-12566598598981886292011-06-18T03:09:13.552-04:002011-06-18T03:09:13.552-04:00I had a frankly quite horrendous week but that was...I had a frankly quite horrendous week but that was only at work. Out of work it was fine and I met up with some friends I haven't seen for a while. I think as long as I can separate the work stuff from the non-work stuff, I'll be ok! Enjoying the weekend though :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
